Arriving to 3 Little Birds and The Beach

The drive took a bit longer than we anticipated, but were thrilled to arrive in Destin and to check out our home for this week; 3 Little Birds.

It looked great from the outside and the proverbial "welcome mat" beckoned us to check out the inside.

The downstairs naturally flowed to the family room where we'll all get to have some time together goofing off, putting puzzles together, and playing games.

A few steps away, and just up the stairs, let us know we've got that "at home" feel you simply can't get at a hotel.  Plenty of room for Gretchen and I.

And the kids, too!

We loved the inside, but after a long day on the road we all agreed it was POOL TIME!!

And I put my young man to work. 

I'm not going to lie, I needed that multi-hour float, but what's better than pool time?  BEACH TIME!!!!  We put on our awesome hats (i.e. they don't look awesome, but they awesomely keep the sun off our heads).

Down on the beach, we had a nice view looking back towards Destin.

And yes, the water (as usual for Destin) looked outstanding.

We all enjoyed the cold water and... several thousand of our closest friends!

We are all so glad to have this opportunity to spend a week relaxing as a family and enjoying so much of nature's raw beauty.
