Spending Time with Zoe in San Francisco

I won't lie, traveling so much this second half of 2014 has been tough all the way around.  When I got tasked with tackling two weeks in a row for a client in San Francisco we just decided it made more sense to stay through the weekend so I could maximize my time working and not be overwhelmed by back-to-back cross-country flights.  I was thrilled to get the chance to break the weeks up with having Zoe fly out (hey, gotta use all those miles for something good) after she finished her last final on Friday and fly back on Monday.  What an awesome opportunity to spend a completely dedicated weekend with her.  She's passed out now (Sunday night) after we went all over this fun town and I'm just so happy she got to come!

I knew it was going to be a fast paced weekend when Zoe picked out a Mustang convertible (I truly love National's "pick any" approach to rentals).  We had fun in it even that first night by going up and down all the steep streets as well as the windy Lombard stretch, although both of us got a little sick to our stomachs.

I've been to San Francisco several times before, but I never knew the Golden Gate Park had bison and I was totally blown away by the North Dutch Windmill I saw for the first time on the edge of the park at the Pacific Ocean.  Turns out, there are two of them.  This thing was gigantic!

We started the day with breakfast at The Cliff House as I always enjoy relaxing there when I come to The City.

We then took the top down on the Mustang and checked out Fort Point (my first time down to the base of the Golden Gate Bridge).

We really enjoyed the open air as we zipped across the bridge and took in the scenery from the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.

We spend the rest of our time doing all the obligatory SF sights & activities including Fisherman's Wharf, cable cars, Union Square, The Painted Ladies, and eating some yummy seafood, but the weirdest thing we saw was 1000's of folks dressed up like Santa for SantaCon's annual Santa pub crawl event

What a lightning quick weekend with Zoe, but one I will always cherish.  Thanks for coming out my sweet young lady.
