Cromer's Mill Covered Bridge

Cromer's Mill Covered Bridge

It has been a while since we went on one of our Covered Bridges hunts, but that's just what Gretchen and I did smack in the middle of the Memorial Day weekend.  We drove way up I-85 to Franklin County to see Cromer's Mill Covered Bridge (details and directions).  You can find Cromer's Bridge Road easily enough, but if you blink you'll miss the almost hidden path down to the bridge.

Here's a good picture of the northern entrance and Nails Creek that it spans.

Walking from the northside of the creek to the south was a bunch of fun.

Once you finally get to the end of the bridge, you can read the two-sided historical marker.

Looking at the bridge from the south shows that entrance is almost completely overgrown.

All in all, another check on the Covered Bridges list and a great day to do it on.
