Taking Germany’s Romantic Road to Harburg Castle and Rothenburg

No sooner than we returned from the https://martin.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/jazzyearl/blog/2019/04/02/1209761793/Return+to+Heidelberg, we hit the road again. This time, to see a part of the Romantic Road. We did a northern section of this popular road that ends at https://martin.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/jazzyearl/blog/2017/04/07/99817618/Schloss+Neuschwanstein+--+The+Cinderella+Castle. We had two main destinations; Harburg Castle and Rothenburg ob der Tauber. We even had a special surprise outside the walls of Rothenburg!

Harburg Castle

Wow!

What an awesome place!

Rothenburg

Next stop is the town that Rick Steves calls Germany’s Fairy-Tale Dream Town. It truly is beautiful!! Take a peak for yourself.

Here’s the most popular view of this town.

And it is full of beautiful structures like this one.

This tiny town has THREE giant churches. Here’s the one in the center of town.

Can you see the stork and its nest?

The entire old town is surrounded by a tall wall which has a great wall walk.

It was on top of the wall that we saw the special treat!! Yes, a COVERED BRIDGE!!

Covered Bridge

What a treat. This is the first of the https://martin.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/jazzyearl/pages/19070989/Covered+Bridges I have ever seen outside the US.

We headed back to Munich at end the third very busy day of our trip, but will never forget this beautiful town.
