Covered Bridges Roadtrip to Northeast Alabama

While https://martin.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/jazzyearl/blog/2019/05/26/1305149441 was the primary destination of yesterday’s roadtrip into northeast Alabama, seeing a few more https://martin.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/jazzyearl/pages/19070989 is always a good reason to take a long drive.

Shiloh Covered Bridge

Our first stop was one of the final four Georgia https://martin.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/jazzyearl/pages/19070989 we have left to visit. It was a bit out in the country just before getting to Alabama. This little town has American flags waving everywhere, lawns were well groomed (and these were NOT little yards), and we even saw an old man just down the street sitting on his porch with a shotgun in his hands. Yes, he waved! It was no shock that we found this awesome little bridge without ANY vandalism.

Coldwater Covered Bridge

Coldwater Covered Bridge is just off I-20 as you enter Alabama and although I have driven by this 50 times, I somehow have NEVER seen this bridge that is clearly visible from the interstate.

Gilliland-Reese Covered Bridge

The plan was to just see the two bridges described above, but a surprise presented itself when seeing this bridge while visiting .
