Waterfalls Outside of Minneapolis
The last time I was in Minneapolis I was lucky to see the falls right there in town as blogged about in Ruins, a Waterfall and the MOA. This trip I stretched a bit further from town and found a few waterfalls that would fit into my work schedule.
Minnemishinona Falls
The small amount of water volume in the picture below of this 43 foot plunge makes it look much smaller than it is. It may not be a lot to look without roaring amounts of water, but all waterfalls are beautiful to me.
Minneopa Falls
Next up was Minneopa State Park for the namesake Minneopa Falls.
Not far from the parking lot you cross over a small bridge with an eight foot cascade on the left.
To the right, you can see over the top of the 40 foot block section.
Meandering downstream once across the river you finally start to see this fast moving beast.
Walking a bit further you take the full thing in.
At the observation point there are some cool old staircases that can be explored leading down to the water level below.
Vermillion Falls
This sweet waterfall was smack in the middle of Hastings, Minnesota. It is also easy on the eyes!
Yes, that’s a building RIGHT next to it!!
And yes, you can go off the approved trail just a tiny bit and get a selfie from the top of this 35 foot cascade waterfall!!!
