took the pig/hive test (got a shiny new certificate)

Looks like I almost finished up March without publishing a single blog posting, but my quarterly goal of adding to my Professional Certifications save the day (or is it month?).  In the spirit of when I obtained hortonworks' apache hadoop administrator certification (finally), I finished up the Hortonworks Certified Apache Hadoop 2.0 Developer certification today as you can see by the shiny new certificate below.  I also made sure that objective on my quarterly goals will pay out; cha-ching!

Hortonworks is moving forward with Performance-Based Certifications which I believe is a much better, and more relevant, way to go.  Checkout the details of the certification that is replacing the one I just earned; HDP Certified Developer (HDPCD).  Maybe these hands-on (instead of multiple-choice) tests will influence my general thoughts on certifications which I previously posted as a part of i'm a certified hadoop developer (so, what does that mean?).

Do you hold any Hadoop certifications?  If so, what are your thoughts about them?
