The long hike was worth it as the views looking down on the city (you can see how tall the church spire is!), the bridge and the other side of the river were simply breathtaking!!

WORK IN PROGRESS – MORE TO COME!The walkway was a front-row seat to the castle, too.
I then went to check out the castle coming in from the back side. I didn't realize how much this structure laid into ruins onto I got around to that side.
This looked so much more cool in person than it appears my pictures make it out to be. I either need to get a better camera – or become a better photographer! 
There was also another great view of the old town below when beginning the walk back down the big hill. So pretty!
My guide's blog considers Heidelberg a Contender for Germany's Most Beautiful City and I'm starting to think he just may be right!!
