Windy Day in Munich

We arrived in Munich back on Sunday, but this was a designated rest day due to the red-eye to Germany. That said, we did plan to get out there for a little bit of sightseeing. Where do you go first when you get to Munich? To see the New Town Hall in the Marienplatz, of course!

We found a spot for some dinner just in front of the clock tower and partook in a traditional German meal.

This was a strategic spot as the 10+ minute animated clock and bell show was about to begin.

After dinner and “the show”, we wondered around a bit more before heading back for the evening. As you get out of the center plaza, you quickly see that Munich is much more of a modern city.

Monday and Tuesday were occupied with a https://martin.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/jazzyearl/blog/2019/04/02/1209761793 and then Wednesday was focused on https://martin.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/jazzyearl/blog/2019/04/03/1211826177. These trips were FULL days back-to-back, so Thursday was our first change to sleep in and we did just that. When we finally got out into Munich, we started at the English Garden for some more sausages and sauerkraut.

It actually was the coldest day of the trip, but the park has some beautiful views that are worth seeing.

Plenty of water foul in the various ponds and waterways throughout the park.

Once you leave the park, you quickly come upon the Bavarian State Chancellery and the Dianatempel.

Just a few more minutes away are the towers of Theatinerkirche and the Feldherrnhalle.

By this point, we were freezing and headed back to the hotel to relax for the next day’s trip out of town. Check out https://martin.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/jazzyearl/blog/2017/04/02/99668271 and the for some more Munich sights.
