What a Great Week in Destin

Our week in Destin has wrapped up and we surely already miss our time together.  Quickly after Arriving to 3 Little Birds and The Beach we took full advantage of the ocean and the backyard pool.  Renting a house makes it so much easier to just lounge around.  Oh yeah, and going back to the beach again and again.

That last photo was taken while we were eating lunch at The Crab Trap.  We cooked almost every meal at the rental house, but I couldn't get away before enjoying some shrimp from the Gulf of Mexico.  The kids said I looked like a mad man working my way through this platter.

That's really all we did all week.  In between sleeping/napping, swimming, and enjoying delicious food we played games, worked on puzzles, and enjoyed watching movies & TV.  We somehow got wrapped up in a Naked & Afraid marathon.  Those folks are crazy!

Our last night Gretchen and I decided to take a little boat ride to see some dolphins and enjoy a sunset together.  We loaded up on AJ's cruises.  The wine and beer was flowing and I actually had two beers which is about two beers more than I have in a typical year!!

We even took the obligatory selfie.

We were thrilled to get to see some dolphins on this short trip.

I took all of the dolphin pictures with my iPhone.  It was getting dark and they were all at least 20 yards away so I cropped the remaining photos of the dolphins.  This first one is of the picture above to show that the originals aren't really that bad.  (wink)

As the brochure (ok... website...) promised, we had a nice enough sunset.

I was so lucky to enjoy it with my beautiful wife of 21 years (I love you, Gretchen).

The sunset was a nice ending to a great week.  I'm so glad we had this family time together!
